Call for Project Proposals on Coastal Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration

In collaboration with the Blue Partnership Action Fund (BPAF), IOC Sub-Commission for the Western Pacific (WESTPAC) is calling for project proposals to support efforts in marine biodiversity conservation, and coastal ecosystem restoration (e.g. mangrove, seagrass, coral reefs) in the Southeast Asia.

Focus Areas

The Fund supports conservation, research, and public awareness raising initiatives targeting:

  • Coastal ecosystem (mangrove, seagrass, coral reefs, etc) conservation and restoration, and sustainable livelihoods;
  • Marine biodiversity conservation and monitoring;
  • Relevant citizen science, public outreach or environmental education activities.

Eligibility

Open to legally registered NGOs, Universities, Research Institutes, Think Tanks, and Volunteer Groups in: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.

Application

  • Grant Size: Up to $50,000 USD per project
  • Project Duration: Up to 24 months
  • Application Deadline: 15 March 2026
