On 25 April 2024, the IOC Sub-Commission for the Western Pacific (WESTPAC) proudly unveiled the recipients of its Best Young Scientist Oral and Poster Presentation Awards 2024. Eight remarkable young scientists were honored with this prestigious recognitation at the 2nd UN Ocean Decade Regional Conference & 11th WESTPAC International Marine Science Conference.
Chosen through a rigorous selection process from a pool of approximately 300 applicants, these awardees represent the pinnacle of emerging talents in marine science. Since its inception in 2011, the “WESTPAC Best Young Scientist Award” has been a beacon for nurturing and motivating young marine scientists in the region to excel in ocean science.
