The Eleventh Session of NEAR-GOOS Coordinating Committee was held in Bangkok, Thailand, 18-19 January 2007, with the kind support of the Government of Thailand. The meeting reviewed the status of NEAR-GOOS and progress made during the inter-sessional period; exchange information on related programmes in this region; identified possible areas in cooperation with other Regional programmes; and follow up activities towards the goals of NEAR-GOOS in its second phase (2004-2008) as provided in its Strategic Plan. The meeting adopted 14 Action Points for next intersessional period, and two resolutions on Training Activities of NEAR-GOOS and Establishment on a Pilot project of Ocean Data and Information Networkfor the Western Pacific region, respectively.
